Hi Everyone!

I just thought I would introduce myself as a new addition to the StARs. The StARs basically help with student recruitment by working with both prospective students and current students through our blogs, phone calls, and emails. 

I have attended the West Campus of ASU for a little over two and a half years. I am a Criminal Justice Major and a part of the College of Public Programs. I absolutely love being a Criminal Justice major and have enjoyed all of the classes I have taken thus far. I have also been involved on the West Campus as a senior CALL mentor. You are probably asking yourself what does a a CALL mentor do? As a senior CALL mentor, I work in CALL (Communication Assessment Learning Lab) where I help students with their public speaking skills and all of the different aspects of public speaking, including but not limited to, brainstorming, outlining, preparing, and delivering speeches or presentations. I really enjoy helping students and giving them the opportunity to feel more confident when they speak inside and outside of their classes. 

While I am a full time student at ASU, I also work part-time in a law firm. I have worked for this law firm for about three and a half years, since before I graduated from high school. I enjoy every aspect of my job from learning about details of each case to working with clients. I have learned so much about civil law and the preparation and outcomes of these types of cases. I'm not only a student and a paralegal but as of about three weeks ago, I am a wife! I'm enjoying everything about being married and I'm excited for the future ahead! I am a family-oriented person, enjoying all the times I can spend with each member of my family. I figure skated competitively for six years and I loved every moment. I enjoy roller skating, hiking, swimming, snowboarding, wake boarding, surfing, fishing, snow mobiling, or just simply relaxing while spending time with family and friends. Now that you know a little about me, I hope you will enjoy my blogs. I will give you a personal insight of what it is like to be a college student at Arizona State University.
